Increasing the water pump's flow rate increases the amount of water sent to the radiator, which activates heat exchange, increases the amount of heat dissipation, and improves cooling efficiency. This not only slows down the rate at which the water temperature rises, but also helps to quickly return the temperature to an appropriate level even if it reaches a dangerous temperature range that could damage the engine.
